Privacy policy

The short version

RideTuned's calculators run entirely in your browser. Your height, weight, inseam and other inputs are never sent to us, they stay on your device unless you use "copy link", which encodes them in a URL you choose to share. We don't have accounts, logins or a database. The only third parties involved are Google (fonts and, if you consent, analytics) and Amazon (if you click an affiliate link).

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which tools people use and roughly how much traffic the site gets. It is off by default: nothing loads until you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies (typically _ga and _ga_*) and collect page views, approximate location derived from IP address (city/country level, not precise), device and browser type, and referring site. It does not receive your calculator inputs. The analytics cookies can last up to two years unless you clear them, and the usage data we can see in Google Analytics is deleted after 14 months. If you click "Reject", or take no action, none of this is set.

Your accept/reject choice itself is remembered using your browser's local storage (not a cookie), so we know not to ask again. This is considered strictly necessary and doesn't require consent, but you can change your mind at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page.

Fonts

Pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). This happens on every visit, regardless of your cookie choice, because it's needed to render the page. Google Fonts doesn't set cookies for this, but as with any external request, your IP address is visible to Google as part of fetching the font files. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle that.

Affiliate links

RideTuned is a member of the Amazon Associates programme. Where product links appear on the site, they're tagged so we earn a small commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Clicking through to Amazon is subject to Amazon's own privacy notice, including any cookies they set to track the referral. We don't see or control that data.

What we don't do

• No accounts, logins, or user profiles.
• No selling or sharing of data with data brokers or advertisers beyond the services named above.
• No tracking across other websites.
• No server-side logging of your calculator inputs; they never leave your browser except via a link you explicitly copy and share.

Your choices

Use the cookie banner, or "Cookie settings" in the footer, to accept or reject analytics at any time. Clearing your browser's cookies and local storage resets all of this. Most browsers also let you block third-party requests (including fonts) entirely, though that may affect how the site looks.

Children

RideTuned isn't directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

If what we collect or why changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and the date above.
